SPIEL SUCHT SPIELER

let yourself go. don't let yourself go. we aim to present what is best for you. the passage requires a raft, a river, a cliff and a waterfall. we steer clear of melodramas. add fire. put out fire. add town crier and lantern. fog now, all over the cities. let drama take place. hide knives all over the first act. end drama. instigate farce. bring in Racine. or Esther, for the young. have Racine beheaded by a mosquito. show nothing. the actors put themselves on fire. let orgy take place. put out second fire by submerging the ridiculous queen-size bed with everyone in it. add ocean everywhere. sunken treasures. create illusion of map. make third fire under water. add fire engines, drifting out of view, unmanned. set stage for revolution. add dalmatians, three or four, too late. discuss ending, let audience and ensemble come together. add bonfires, then random rituals until curtains. confess a dictatorial view on open dialogue. add postscript; leaflets hurled at the audience by trained orcas. add audience; 16 women in business suits drowned in their seats, semi-grown fins protruding, flapping, to mimic applause. add voiceover: "with a single flower I will break your trust."

ESCAPE PRESS

you wanted to become one of those hip norwegian refugees / just pack your things and go / hunt for good fortune and never look back / build a life and claim your freedom / under different televised moons in different and less godforsaken parts of the world / somewhere where it is possible to thrive and prosper / to kill the wheel that grinds your bones / throw the millstones of worthless jupiters into brook and pond / just get the money and go / pack your things and go / whore day and night for a year or so / eat whatever comes your way / drink only from the melted snow / to crumble and shiver but go go go / to get on the ferry to denmark and be gone / hide in plain sight everywhere / cringe in undisplayed shame to the bassline of UB40's greatest hits / make love in a couple of bunks just for posterity / eat tapioca and mash with a straw / skip right past the glare of copenhagen bright as day / to become another freeborn bastard child of the highway / throw your thumb for progress and wear the names of all your oppressors / skin the asphalt to the bone and roam quite simply roam / dress your biography with falsitudes for every interested ear / to conjure a whisper that is private to bear / open the door close the door / be kind be kind / to never have spoken a word that speaks of your mind / to cross all borders with a smile / "please please dear officer do not detain the vessel that carries but a little dream" / "here a little paper please let it pass and go" / to ride the wasteland on its veins / skip gently past its human stains / the autobahn slumber the fog horn thunder / to drink and bathe in roadside aquariums / wash with white bars of soap fresh off the trees / "bring me to the ocean please" / to dip in the straight and narrow / "suck my bones lick my marrow" / to paint your shoes in Samarkand / the glitterdome in Abendland / to cross all borders with a smile / climb all mountains like a child / stow away with faultless guile / drink all the wine of France just to see the evening through / in lieu of lust in lieu of love / to drink the blood of every dove / still comfort a farmers maid or two / to whistle on the marsellaise from montpellier to toulouse / sneak across the border bright / stretching out with charmed delight / here and there leave a suitcase behind / full of fragments and fractures for no one to find /

to listen to the starcrossed fellow / moaning groaning slow to bellow / to notice the move the shift the fullness too / nothing nowhere that will contain a you / the border burns you like a star / to make an imprint of how close you are / to write a story to kill the hero / on every beach you count to zero / the life of ashtrays burned so bright / left you nothing to your sweet delight / to all the waves of needful plight / to cotton skies made ripe for flight / to the bashful demon that holds your oar / a feathered groin to compose your score / to build a canoe from your sweetest wishes / construct a sail of shame and sorrow / to navigate in frameless horror / to the spillings of the ghost you serve / to the spillings that will serve you best / all is forgotten with two tomorrows / and the shyness that curiosity borrows / the million people million zorro's / the million zeus'es and jesus juices / your ark is made of silent wood / hollywood bollywood nollywood / your script was never any good / none shall know your name out here / or hire you for godly measure / a name too strange and out of key / more norwegian than it needs to be / unemployable and white as paint / in every town the women scatter / the rumour of this freedom served / scraps of not unlikely banter / this wine finally / poured from a silly decanter / a refugee of sleight of hand / to look upon the gonads gland / the country the love the dream so tender / to end it in a worthless bender /

TRENDING MIRACLES AND LONGSHOTS

you were loitering in my dreams, claiming to represent my future. i have nothing against my future. i have always seen my future as being tall, dark and wearing shades. i have, on the other hand, little in common with my past. she resides in a putrid cave. dandruff. even beauty is just a fragment. a naked shoulder in the sun. a shop for stilettos. a thunderbolt undressing. sometimes you were waking up in me; what are we both doing here? we went out for coffee at a horrible place referred to colloquially as cafe body. here we began. your design was beauty, mine was understanding. out of almost nothing sprung holes. regeneration took place where it shouldn't. again, the terror became boring.
